NAB 2014: Jigabot AIMe

NAB 2014: Jigabot AIMe

Few things I have seen at this year’s NAB 2014 show impressed me as much as the Jigabot AIMe.  What an incredible idea!  Simply put, the concept is you attach an electronic “sensor” to your body or the subject you wish to track, mount your camera onto AIMe, and Tada!  AIMe tracks your every movement.  Wow.  Sort of artificial intelligence for your camera head.  All kinds of possibilities open up for many creative uses for this, but by far and away, this is a product designed for fathers-I speak from my own point of view; I readily admit, the roles can be reversed!

Fathers always get the short end of the stick, photographically speaking.  How often do you see father in the scenes with the kids, all playing together and having fun?  Hardly ever.  Once in awhile maybe, when mom gets inspired to grab a few of those precious childhood memories.  But then she is missed from the action.  Call it what you will, but this is a major problem that despite camera manufacturers best intentions, nobody has come up with a workable solution.  Until now.  Thanks to the brilliant idea behind AIMe, fathers of the world will now be able to play with their kids, focus on the children, and still capture those precious moments for the family archive.  Now how great is that, I ask you?

My own kids are grown, but there is always the grandkids to consider.  And anything else that moves, providing I can attach the sensor to it.  Creative possibilities abound for AIMe.  Likely why they decided to show it at this years NAB 2014.  AIMe is expected to be available for order in July, 2014.  For more information, and to sign up to be advised when AIMe starts to ship, get on the Jigabot list here:http://www.jigabot.com
